The Gaussian filter removes the high frequency components of the image. When we subtract this from the original image, we are removing some of the low frequency components.

Sharp/Unsharp
This took me about 30 minutes. I use a 5x5 Gaussian filter with a standard deviation of 1.5.
The Gaussian filter removes the high frequency components of the image. When we subtract this from the original image, we are removing some of the low frequency components.
